Champion of Champions Titles taken

Competition was tight and the courts were hot but the Champions were crowned and now go onto Nationals in 4 weeks to represent Central against the rest of NZ.

The Bailey family did particularly well with brother and sister taking out the B grade titles. You must be proud Betty!
The 2018 Champions are:
B Grade - Allan Bailey (PN) and Gina Bailey (PN)
C Grade - Clinton Bennett (TR) and Sarah Ratcliffe (RC)
D Grade - Daniel Potter (HW) and Darnell Watling (OA)
E Garde - Scott Fraser (OA) and Kayla Ryan (HW)
F grade - Tim Swainson (HV) and Samantha Reyes (OA)

The A grade went uncontested and Kent Darlington (WG) and Courtney Trail (PN) will be representing us at the NZ COC Nationals.
The club winner by only 1 point this year was once again Ohakune for the 5th year running.
Champion tally was
Ohakune - 3
Hawera and SquashGym 2 each
Tararua, Hunterville and Rivercity all got 1

Champion of Champions weekend was full on with Inglewood being great hosts and the kitchen put out the best toasted sandwich I have had in a long time. And I have had plenty. A big thank you to Pauline and the crew at Inglewood Squash Club.

Congratulations to all that attended and keep up the training Champions. Last year Central were in 3 finals at Nationals but only Nichole Schrafft (OA) came away with the F grade womens title so heres hoping we can improve on our 1 title in Ohakune next month.

Pictured below, the 3 Champions that won Ohakune their 5th consecutive title.
