Interclub 2024

Interclub is a fantastic way to get regular competitive games in your week.  It is a social team event, you must be on the Squash NZ grading list to compete in this competition.  Central District is split into two zones, Taranaki and MWR (Manawatu, Whanganui, Ruapehu). Ruapehu tend to run a seperate Round the Mountain Inter-club as travel is often difficult during the winter months however they are still eligiable to enter the MWR zones competition.
Entry is through your club and there is a small entry fee.  Some upcoming Interclub competitions are:
  • Summer Doubles
  • Masters composite
  • Winter graded Interclub
  • Masters men's and Women's
  • Spring Social
  • Taranaki Challengers Series

Keep a look out on the club noticeboard and Facebook pages for upcoming competition posters with details.  The first round is schedualed to start mid February.

Autumn Results For Taranaki Interclub Series

Thanks to everyone who played in the Autumn round of the Taranaki Challenger Series.
Leaderboard is below for Individual & Club points - Showing both points for the clubs averaged and points collected.

HUGE thank you to Mike Davies for making the amazing keepsakes for the winners of this round.

Congratulations to Frazer from Waitara who took the series win. Smartly played over the 6 matches to weed out the losses for his 6 best scores!
Sam played a superb round, squash improving every week and came in 2nd without even playing the finals week.
3rd = Annalese, Mitch, JP and Matt S all played a great 6 weeks, having more wins than losses!
Mark Belchamber came in 7th, almost every week was a big 5 setter with him :D
and 10th = Travis took a spot with only 5 rounds played, but winning them all! Alongside our committed juniors Toby and Ari, who both have improved on and off the court. But if anyone see's Tobys lip though, he'd like it back ?

Inglewood took the prize for Club win this round, they were the only club that had consistent numbers every week and had players playing both tues and weds every week.
Great commitment from Inglewood and also they must have had some good wins there also!

Top 10 all won cash prizes which were made up from the entries over the 6 weeks, plus extra people on the final night won a $20.00 cash back
There were so many good games throughout the series and so many people have improved, great to be able to see the progress of that happening.
Along with people offering up coaching advice, helping out the new players, and marking extra games when needed.

Thank you to all the clubs for encouraging your members to play and try out a new format and also all the players I messaged to fill in a spot when someone pulled out at the last minute. Thank you!
We had 105 players participating across the 7 local clubs over the 6 weeks which is fantastic.
Huge kudos to all the clubs for pulling together AMAZING meals when hosting the round. It brought club members together really well working as a team again.
It's been a great 6 weeks!

We'll take a wee break while everyone prepares for Superchamps then a new round will commence later on in July (Tuesday & Wednesdays)
More details will follow in due course.
