Despite a frigid start and icy courts, the latest installment of the Turangi Junior Prince series brought out a small but incredibly keen group of competitors. The draw featured a fantastic mix of talent, bringing together a dedicated van-load of players from Whanganui, a strong local contingent, and a few familiar faces from around the lake. The standout story of the day belonged to Carmen Armstrong; after arriving at the courts just to support, she stepped in to cover a late withdrawal and remarkably went on to win Division 2.
