The Central Squash Graded Championships brought a thrilling weekend of competition to Ohakune Squash Club, as players from across the region battled it out for the chance to advance to Nationals later this year.
The Graded Champs, a key step in the popular Champion of Champions pathway, saw fierce matches across all grades. Since its national debut in 2012, the Champion of Champions event has become a staple on the squash calendar, offering a unique format similar to SuperChamps — but with a focus on individual glory rather than team play.
Ohakune Squash Club provided a fantastic atmosphere for the event, with players and supporters alike praising the welcoming hospitality and excellent court conditions. The club was buzzing all weekend as matches played out across multiple grades, showcasing the depth of talent within the Central region.
Each winner now earns the first opportunity to represent Central at the Champion of Champions National Finals later in the year, where they’ll face off against the best graded players from around the country. Congratulations to all competitors, and especially to our grade winners who will proudly carry the Central banner at Nationals!
The weekend was not just about competition — it was also a celebration of community, sportsmanship, and the love of the game. A huge thank you to Ohakune Squash Club, volunteers, referees, and supporters who made the 2025 Central Squash Graded Champs a resounding success.
