Ladies One Day

Squashgym was the final stop for our Women's E grade and below series with a great turnout of ladies who travelled from across the Central region. It was a busy day with Squashgym also hosting the Junior Prince Series at the same time so for some it was a family day out and an opportunity to catch up with new and old squash friends. Thank you to the Squashgym team for hosting the first and last stops on the series. The intent of the series is to provide an environment for our lower graded players to have an opportunity

Tararua Club hosted the second to last Women's E and Below tournament with an enthusiastic turnout on a chilly winters morning. Lots of fun was had by those that participated and we look forward to seeing you all in the final at Squashgym shortly. Thank you to the Tararua team for hosting this event. What a fantastic day of squash at Whanganui Squash Club as they hosted the latest E Grade and Below Ladies Series event! With 16 ladies taking to the courts, it was brilliant to welcome players from Eltham, Hawera, Levin, Ohakune, SquashGym, Rivercity and, of course, a couple of the local Whanganui contingent. The atmosphere throughout the day was full of encouragement, laughter and plenty of competitive spirit. The matches certainly kept everyone entertained, with the competition incredibly close across all divisions. We saw five nail-biting five-setters, seven hard-fought four-set matches, and more than a few games that seemed determined

The next stop for the women's series was Inglewood Squash Club. We hear that the games all went well with some very close matches. There was a great atmosphere at the club with several people playing their first squash tournament. Thank you to the Inglewood team for hosting this event. The club hosted E grade and below ladies from around the district, some even traveling from as far as Pahiatua with new faces to the club too. It was great to see some new local ladies playing their first squash tournament. All games were played in good spirits. Thank you to the Hawera team for hosting this event. Squashgym Palmerston North was the location of the first Women's E and below One day Tournament series in March. The intent of this series to provide close competition for those in E grade or below and for those new to squash this is a good introduction to a tournament environment. The first of this event series was well attended with four draws.  Thank you to Squashgym for hosting a great one day tournament.
