Central Juniors Fight Hard But Eastern Claims Victory in Annual Challenge

The Central vs Eastern Junior Squash Challenge, held on February 1, 2025, at Hastings Squash Club, delivered a thrilling day of competition as junior players battled it out for regional supremacy. For the first time in five years, Eastern managed to wrestle the trophy away from Central, securing a well-earned 23-17 victory. The event featured two male and two female representatives from each age group, ranging from U11s through to U19s, facing off against their counterparts in a series of intense and hard-fought matches. Squash Central Association Incorporated AGM and Council of Clubs will be on Sunday 2nd March 2025, 11am at Whanganui Squash Club. Remit put forward by the Squash Central Board  At the committee meeting held on 26th November 2024 Pauline Waite moved that we adopt the new proposed constitution to align with Squash New Zealand and meet new regulatory requirements for the Incorporated Societies Act. Central Ladies 2nd at NZ Senior Districts Teams Champs 2024

The NZ Senior Districts Teams Champs were held at Otago Squash Club on Friday 30th August – Sunday 1st September 2024. The Central Ladies team were 2nd seeds and the Men 7th seeds going into the tournament. It wasn’t a perfect start for the Central team with a flight delay out of Palmerston North which saw the team arriving at Dunedin Airport at 11.35am with the ladies due on court at 12pm. Women’s Series Wraps Up for 2024

49 women took part in the 5 round tournament series with competitors coming from as far as Wellington and Masterton to compete. The E grade and below ladies series has come to an end after four rounds of one day tournaments. The series kicked off in March at Feilding Squash Club, followed by one day events at Hawera Squash Club, Whanganui Squash Club and finishing on August 18th at Levin Squash Club. The National Graded Championships concluded with great success for the Central Squash Team hosted by Henderson Squash Club. They brought their A-game, a lot of energy, and some friendly competition to the courts. They started strong on day one with 9 wins and 4 losses, setting the tone.
